When I came to Â鶹´«Ã½AVPeter’s I knew I wanted to major in history, but I didn’t have a clear understanding of what I could do with it. Throughout my four years of taking history classes, I learned how to find reliable sources, how to fact check everything, how to read and write to the best of my abilities, and much more. I also realized that there are many things you can do with a history degree. With my degree in history, I was able to join the museum education team at the National 9\/11 Memorial and Museum. What is History?<\/h3>\n

At Â鶹´«Ã½AVPeter’s University, we believe understanding history is the key to building a better future.<\/p>\n

Our History program explores the events that shaped our present day and the cultures and civilizations that define our shared humanity.<\/p>\n

Classes cover topics like\u00a0<\/span>sexuality, race, science, war, sports, genocide, ancient civilizations, environment, economics, popular culture, religion and more<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

You will seek to answer questions like:<\/p>\n

  • How have societies evolved over time?<\/li>\n
  • How did past people who might seem strange or distant find meaning in their lives and make sense of living in the world?<\/span><\/li>\n
  • How do historical stories shape our understanding of current issues?<\/li>\n
  • What major political, economic, and social changes still impact us today?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
