Dr. Jennifer Ayala, Program Director<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The Latin American and Latino Studies Program offers a major and a minor that give students a broad understanding of Latin-America, the Caribbean, and Latine communities in the United States. The curriculum includes courses from a range of areas including Busi\u00adness, Economics, Fine Arts, History, Modern Languages, Political Science, Sociology, Urban Studies and Social Justice.<\/span><\/p>\n

Requirements for Latin American Studies Major<\/span><\/h2>\n

LS-101<\/span><\/td>Intro Latin Amer & Latino Stud (PL)<\/td>3<\/td><\/tr>\n
SP-<\/span><\/td>Any 2 Spanish courses<\/span><\/td>6<\/td><\/tr>\n
LS-<\/span><\/td>6 LS electives, with no more than 3 from the same discipline<\/span><\/td>18<\/td><\/tr>\n
LS-<\/span><\/td>One 400-level Sociology course<\/span> 1<\/sup><\/td>3<\/td><\/tr>\n

Any 400-level\u00a0 Sociology, Urban Studies, or Anthropology course in which the student completes a research paper that can be to the related Latin American and Latino Studies curriculum.\u00a0 The student will consult with the LS Program Director when choosing this course.<\/span><\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/table>\n
