JERSEY CITY, N.J.<\/strong> \u2013 Â鶹´«Ã½AVPeter\u2019s University has once again been named to <\/span>The Princeton Review<\/span><\/i> Guide to Green Colleges<\/span><\/i> 2026. This recognition is one that the University has achieved consistently over the years, showcasing the importance of sustainability both in the community and in the values of Jesuit education.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>This year’s list ranked 388 schools in the U.S. using more than 25 survey data points to develop and provide a measure of a school’s performance. To be included on the list, schools needed to achieve an 80 or higher. Â鶹´«Ã½AVPeter\u2019s achieved a score of 89, boosted by its Sustainability Council on campus and degrees focusing on sustainability.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a testament to our collective community effort across students, faculty, and staff that Â鶹´«Ã½AVPeter\u2019s University continues to be included in <\/span>The Princeton Review Guide to Green Colleges<\/span><\/i>,\u201d said Eileen Poiani, Ph.D., chair of the Sustainability Council at Â鶹´«Ã½AVPeter\u2019s University. \u201cOur culture of sustainability remains strong and is supported by leadership in truly wonderful ways each year with new ideas and collaborations defining how we create a campus for generations to come.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Fr. James Miracky, S.J., Vice President of Mission Integration and Ministry explained the history around sustainability as part of the Jesuit mission. \u201cSince 2019, sustainability has been part of the Universal Apostolic Preferences (UAPs). This established “Care of our Common Home” as a priority in the work of the Jesuits to better our planet and those that inhabit it. As a Jesuit university, Â鶹´«Ã½AVPeter\u2019s lives up to its mission by being named to <\/span>The Princeton Review<\/span><\/i> Guide to Green Colleges<\/span><\/i> 2026.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of its sustainability goals, Â鶹´«Ã½AVPeter\u2019s recently received the <\/span>2025 NJDEP recycling award<\/span><\/a>. The University also completed its first TREX Challenge, a remarkable achievement made possible through the dedication and participation of our entire campus community collecting recyclables. A TREX bench will be delivered in the spring and installed on campus, symbolizing our collective commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
