Director of School Counseling Certification

Students pursuing certification as a Director of School Counseling Services must possess School Counselor Certification and completed at least three years of successful school counselor experience under a standard NJ or its out-of-state school counselor equivalent.

ESL Certification

Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV is proud to offer an NJDOE-approved graduate certification program leading to teacher certification in English as a Second Language (ESL). An ESL certification in New Jersey prepares educators to support multilingual learners in developing English language proficiency across speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Courses are taught by full-time and adjunct faculty with expertise in working with multilingual learners. It leads to a recommendation for certification in ESL.

P-3 Alternate Route Teacher Certification

Our P-3 alternate route program requires 30 graduate hours of coursework along with in-person guidance in the schools. Our students must pass the Praxis and hold a provisional license (CE) and be employed as a classroom teacher in grades Preschool through Grade 3. Students complete the following courses in the two year timeframe for Alternate Route.

K-6 Alternate Route Teacher Certification

The K-6 Alternate Route Certification program is an hours-based program, not a credit-based program. Students complete 495 hours of contact time with their students and through classes and seminars developed and conducted by Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV University education faculty. Students learn best practices in education with concentrations in literacy instruction, mathematics teaching, special education, and assessment. Students in this program are guided by highly qualified former classroom teachers. The program can be entered in Fall or Spring semesters.

Tuition: $1250 per semester – $5000 in total
